The vertical wind profiler of southern Brazil is on its way to ZX Lidars in the UK for its maintenance, after four years of measurements on the Ocean and Atmosphere Observation Base (BOOA) in southern Santa Catarina, Brazil. (BOOA website in Portugese)

BOOA was constructed with support of the National Council of Reseach and it is currently maintained with support of the National Institute of Marine and Fluvial Energy and EPAGRI.

In HPCWE, the dataset will be used in the calibration of WRF mesoscale simulations for the state of Santa Catarina, a promising region for offshore wind power development in Brazil.
