S(o)OS @ CASTNESS 2012
S(o)OS participated to the collaboration workshop on "Computing Architectures, Software tools and nano-Technologies for Numerical and Embedded Scalable Systems" (CASTNESS) held in January 2012 in Paris, putting together the European Projects belonging to theTERACOMP Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) call on terascale systems.
The CASTNESS'12 collaboration event grouped together the European Projects investigating on future massively parallel and distributed terascale computing platforms in the context of the FET Proactive Intiative "Concurrent Tera-Device Computing" (TERACOMP):
- TERAFLUX: Exploiting Dataflow Parallelism in Teradevice Computing
- TRAMS: Terascale Reliable Adaptive Memory Systems
- EURETILE: EUropean REference TIled architecture Experiment
- S(o)OS: Service-oriented Operating Systems:
- S(o)OS Overview (Lutz Schubert): power point - pdf
- Description of resource capabilities using CλASH (Christiaan Baaij): pdf
- Characterization & Analysis of Pipelined Applications on the Intel Single-chip Cloud Computer (Vivek Subramanian): power point - pdf
- Rethinking Transactional Memory in the Manycore Context (Vincent Gramoli): pdf
- Communication and Migration in Manycore Systems (Bruno Santos): power point - pdf
In the meeting the four FET projects presented the current results of their research, allowed for discussion on how to collaborate on some specific research issues and clarified the common needs in the different projects. This improved the path for continuing the collaboration among the different projects that was started last year.
