The JUNIPER EU project is started

JUNIPER (Java Platform for High Performance and Large Scale Real-Time Data) is a STREP project of the FP7 programme of the EU. The aim of the project is to conduct research on innovative technology for supporting Real-Time Big Data applications.

The project involves 8 partners from industry and from academy, among which the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, which is in charge of the Operating System workpackahe. Researchers at SSSA plan to use some of the findings of the SoOS project in JUNIPER. In fact, Big Data needs parallel hardware and software and a combination of several modular technologies for optimizing performance and reduce development time and cost.
