VI-HPS (Virtual Institute - High Productivity Supercomputing).
The mission of VI-HPS is to improve the quality and accelerate the development process of complex simulation codes in science and engineering that are being designed to run on highly-parallel computer systems. The virtual institute offers a network of research capacities - among them several ParMA partners - to develop integrated state-of-the-art programming tools for HPC that assist programmers in diagnosing programming errors and optimizing the performance of their applications.
ITEA 2, the follow-up to the successful ITEA programme (Information Technology for European Advancement), is a strategic pan-European programme for advanced pre-competitive R&D on embedded and distributed Software-intensive Systems and Services (SiS).
ITEA 2 stimulates and supports projects that will give European industry a leading edge in application domains where software dominates, such as aerospace, automotive, consumer electronics, healthcare and telecommunications.
ParMA is an ITEA2-labelled project.
