TSP (Institut Télécom, Télécom SudParis)

Details

Institut Télécom, Télécom SudParis is part of the Institut Télécom, a public institution funded by the French Ministry of Telecommunications. IT-SudParis provides graduate programs in engineering and management, and carries out research in the broad field of communications and information technology. The faculty includes 160 permanent professors and 160 Ph.D. students. IT-SudParis has been recently involved in a wide range of projects financed by the European Union, and in Eureka projects. Within IT-SudParis, the Computer Science Department develops a research and development activity in the domain of high performance computing. Special emphasis is put on scheduling, on optimization of communications, on parallelization of applications, and on automating the use of parallel resources by endusers.

The Computer Science department has a long experience in parallel architectures and tools for parallel applications development. We designed several tools that help users to parallelise their applications such as AIPE (Automatic Integration for Parallel Execution) which provides an environment for parallelising parametric applications or SAPFL which parallelises "for" loops using checkpointing techniques. Currently, we are interested in making parallel programming paradigms evolve towards better interactions between users and smart middleware and designed the STEP tool that automatically transforms OpenMP programs into hybrid MPI + OpenMP programs.
