Repsol YPF is an integrated international oil and gas company, operating in more than 30 countries and is the leader in Spain and Argentina. It is one of the ten major private oil companies in the world and the largest private energy company in Latin America in terms of assets.

The E&P area includes oil and gas exploration and production activities carried out by the company throughout the world. Repsol YPF’s objective in this area is profitable growth that is diversified, sustainable and committed to safety, the environment and local communities.

In Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), one of the company’s growing areas, the participation in projects such as Peru LNG, Atlantic LNG and Canaport reinforces Repsol YPF’s position in this business. The technology activities carried out in E&P are aimed at adding value to business processes, through projects ranging from technological surveillance to specialised technological support, although specific developments are also tackled, if, after comprehensive and appropriate analysis, they are considered to be of interest. In the field of Exploration, the activities are directed towards the evaluation and acquisition of new or emerging technologies and tools to be used in the search for hydrocarbons (remote sensors, specialised geochemistry, innovative geophysical methods, modification of conventional technologies...).

Repsol has successfully collaborated with some of the world's most experienced technology partners. Participating in this project Repsol seeks to:

• Explore the capabilities and performance of new heterogeneous parallel architectures
• Leverage the investments in complex HPC code by enhancing its portability among different computer architectures, as new technologies like GPUs or FPGAs become ready for industrial use.
